Violin Program
The P.S. 506 Violin Program is an enrichment program designed to enhance the development of basic instrumental music knowledge as well as enrich children’s cultural, musical and academic experience. Through playing instruments, children improve listening skills, memory skills, reading skills and become more focused. The study of the violin repertoire helps to develop instrumental techniques and performing skills. Also, students acquire music literacy skills including understanding music vocabulary, applying notation and develop critical listening skills.
Performing violin is an experience that gives students the enjoyment and satisfaction of their work while reinforcing instrumental concepts and improving techniques as well as gain an appreciation of music.
