Brooklyn Connections
P.S. 506 is affiliated with the Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn Connections Program. Each year, classes from grades four and five are selected to participate in the enrichment program in order to learn about our local Brooklyn History.
In the fall, to launch the program , students and their teachers visit the library and learn about the vast collection of primary sources and digital collections related to many Brooklyn themes. A Brooklyn topic of interest is selected and the librarian visits classes to present a series of lessons in order to guide students with the research process as they collaborate on a culminating project that will be presented at the library's annual end-of-year spring celebration.
